The first of the animated Afterlives series for Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft: Shadowlands recently debuted. It sees Uther the Lightbringer in the afterlife, being trained by Devos of Bastion. Unfortunately, when Devos learns about the circumstances behind Uther’s death, she helps him exact vengeance/justice on who killed him: Arthas, the former Lich King.
Arthas’s death is nothing new but seeing his soul sentenced to eternal darkness is interesting. Perhaps this hints at his return in the expansion? Whatever the case may be, perhaps more details and lore will be revealed in more Afterlives animated shorts.
Thankfully, Blizzard also announced a released date for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. The expansion arrives on October 27th for PC. Players will explore five new zones in the Shadowlands while interacting with four different Covenants, one of them being Bastion. There’s also a new endless dungeon to explore and a level squish coming for level 120 players. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
