WWE 2K Battlegrounds has revealed the announcers that will commentate on matches as players grapple for the coveted WWE championship in the arcade fighting game.

Revealed at the Gamescom digital event earlier today, a new trailer revealed that WWE 2K Battlegrounds will feature both Mauro Ranallo and Jerry Lawler for commentary in the game. Both have provided commentary in 2K’s other long running wrestling franchise, WWE 2K.

The new trailer also revealed new chaotic finishers in the game for Roman Reigns, Undertaker, and AJ Styles among others. The game looks to bring back the arcade style feeling of wrestling games on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Match types in WWE 2k Battlegrounds were revealed earlier in the year and include classics like singles matches, tag team matches, and tornado tag team matches along with triple threat matches, the Royal Rumble, and fatal-4-way matches.

The announcement of WWE 2K Battlegrounds was initially met with disappointment from fans. With no plans for a WWE 2K game this year, fans were left wondering how 2K would fill the void left by the popular franchise, especially with next-gen looming around the corner. Shortly after announcing there would be no sim-game, Battlegrounds was revealed and seems to have a long road ahead of it.

Meanwhile 2K Games has already outlined WWE 2K Battlegrounds post launch DLC. Though the game launches with an already robust roster, fans can expect over 60 new wrestlers to be added to the game with plans for a staggered release. The list of additional wrestlers includes wrestling legends like Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, and Sting among a slew of others.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds launches on September 18 on the Google Stadia, PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
