At WrestleMania 37, 2K Sports gave fans their first look at WWE 2K22, showing off some brief gameplay footage of a match between Cesaro and Rey Mysterio. There wasn't a lot of information that fans could get from the footage beyond that it seems WWE 2K22 graphics will be a significant step up from previous entries in the series, but now it seems the wait for more details will soon be over. 2K Sports has confirmed the next reveal date for WWE 2K22 while also showing off new in-game screenshots.
The official WWE 2K22 Twitter account showed off an image of WWE superstar Edge making his entrance, complete with signature pose and pyro going off in the background. The image also shows off a bit of what appears to be a massive TitanTron behind Edge, along with a slightly revamped logo for the game. And then on the official Instagram page, another image of Edge was shared, this one giving a closer look at his face.

Edge is one of the top stars in the WWE right now, having made a miraculous comeback after it seemed as though his in-ring career was going to be over forever. Edge was featured in the main event of WrestleMania 37 and is set to fight Seth Rollins in a high profile match at this year's SummerSlam event. Considering Edge's popularity, it makes sense that 2K Sports has decided to feature him with these new screenshots over other superstars.
In the meantime, some WWE 2K22 fans may be wondering when they'll get to see more of the game in action. As it so happens, the tweet of Edge's photo reveals exactly when fans will learn more about the game. 2K Sports has confirmed that WWE 2K22 will be featured at SummerSlam 2021 this Saturday, August 21, so anyone interested in the game should definitely make sure that they tune in to the big event.
SummerSlam is often hailed as WWE's second-biggest event of the year, right behind WrestleMania, and so it usually has significant, high profile match-ups. This year's SummerSlam event is no different, with the main event seeing the long-awaited return of John Cena as he battles Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. This combined with the promise of another look at WWE 2K22 should make SummerSlam a can't-miss event for WWE fans.
WWE 2K22 is in development.
