Horizon Zero Dawn: All Banuk Figure Locations

The Banuk are a tribe in the world of Horizon Zero Dawn. Compared to the history of other tribes, the Banuk are rather peaceful and they believe in the power of good machines. You learn more about the Banuk in the expansion pack, Frozen Wilds, but they are quite prevalent in the base game.

Collectibles are a big part of the game too and the Banuk have their own for you to find. The collectibles are small figures made out of wood and natural materials that are scattered throughout the map. There are six for you to find and each of them requires you to put your climbing skills to the test in order to reach them.

Go To Meridian

Unless you are feeling really confident in your tracking and exploration abilities, it's recommended that you head to Meridian before going after the Banuk figures. The first reason is that you will meet the Merchant Cantarah who is an envoy to the Banuk and she is the one you are collecting these figures for. When you bring back the figures to her, you will be able to trade them with her for her reward boxes. She was three reward boxes in total that cost two Banuk Figures each.

Another reason to come to Meridian and speak to Cantarah is that she can give you a map that marks all of the locations of the figures. The map will cost you 8x Shards, 1x Rich Meat, and 1x Fatty meat but it's well worth taking the time to trade. You can get a lot of useful items from Merchants and the best place to find them is in Meridian.

Banuk Figure One

Location: East of Mother's Crown

All Banuk figures are found up high. When in the general area marked on your map by the little Banuk figure, you need to look for a high point. Typically, this is a Mountain and this is true of the first figure. It's important to remember that the locations marked on the maps are the item itself, not the starting point of how you get there.

When you are close to the marker, you need to scour alongside the side of the Mountain from the ground until you see the distinctive Banuk paintings. The paintings always indicate the start of your climb up to the figure location. Out of every climb you'll need to do, this one is the easiest. Follow the trail and it will bring you to the figure.

Banuk Figure Two

Location: East of Banuk Encampment (The location you visit for the A Moments Peace quest)

This figure is another easy climb, it's only slightly longer than the first one you had to do. Again, when you reach the area, you will see that the marker for the figure is actually up quite high. It's your job to search along the side of the Mountain beneath the marker until you find the Banuk paintings.

Once you find the paintings, all you need to do is find the first hold of the climbing trail then follow it up. You need to stay on the trail or you risk falling off of the Mountain. When you find the figure walk up to it and press Triangle to collect it.

Banuk Figure Three

Location: West of Hunter's Gathering

The start of this trail is easy to find as it's at the back of the settlement. However, after you climb up to the first ledge it seems like nothing is there. This is because you need to turn to your right and you will see the climb begins again up the side of the Mountain. When you have found the start of the second half of the trail, you just need to follow it up.

When you have found the Banuk figure you can open your menu and press R1 to scroll along to the Notebook. Under the collectibles option, you will be able to see the figures that you have collected so far.

Banuk Figure Four

Location: West of Meridian

When you look on the map at this location you need to be extremely careful. The figure itself is located on the higher section of the map but the climb trail starts below it. If you're using fast travel then you need to make sure you are traveling to a fast travel fire that is on the lower half, otherwise, you will spend a long time trying to get down.

As with all the figures, you need to look for the Banuk paintings on the cliff-face once you are near the marked location. All you need to do is climb up the trail and get to the figure. Be careful on this one, it is extremely easy to misjudge your jump and fall off.

Banuk Figure Five

Location: South of Sunfall

When you head for this one, make sure that you are fully equipped and have enough experience to be able to take on the plethora of machines that you'll face in a small area. If you are near the start of the story and you haven't played it before, it's strongly recommended that you leave this one until you're more confident in taking down all of the machines.

If you are ready, then all you need to do is search the cliff face below the marked Banuk point to find the climb trail. This one is a little farther away than the other markers were from their climbing points. It's actually slightly hidden, sp you need to look for a strange rock formation stacked on top of each other, and the Banuk paintings will be next to it. The start of the trail is a small hold on this odd rock formation. Climb up and get the Banuk figure.

Banuk Figure Six

Location: South of Pitchcliff

Once you are near the marked area you should easily spot the climb trail. There is a massive Banuk painting on the side of the Mountain that is hard to miss and there are three large Banuk paintings side by side that mark the start of the trail. All you need to do is climb up the trail to get to the figure.

This is the longest trail that you're going to climb and it does take a bit of experience to conquer. As with the fifth Banuk figure, you should be used to the game's climbing mechanics and confident in your abilities. If you don't think you're quite ready, you can always come back to this at another time.
