Dream Cycle is the next game from Toby Gard, the original creator of Tomb Raider, and is releasing on September 7.
Dream Cycle was the last announcement from the Gamescom Opening Night Live preshow, and was revealed through a gameplay trailer that shows it to be a first-person adventure game with spells and monsters.

The trailer shows the main character, Morgan Carter, walking through abandoned ruins in an area called the Dreamlands and going up against monsters and demons. The gameplay swaps in between first and third-person and shows Morgan using spells alongside weapons like a crossbow. The description for the game mentions that you can choose to use stealth, traps, and spells. One interesting thing to note is that the art style is cel-shaded, with buildings and characters having a black outline around them.
The description from the game's YouTube page says, "Explore the next evolution of action adventures in Dream Cycle, an ever-expanding portal into the unknown by Toby Gard. Trapped in a shattered dimension, you take on the role of Morgan Carter, a modern-day arcane apprentice. Defeat the corrupted inhabitants of the Dreamlands to break the curse.
Use stealth, traps, spells, and illusions to quietly clear the way or challenge enemies head-on, exploiting their weaknesses with conventional weapons. Venture deeper into the Dreamlands, discover the truth of your story, and maybe… just maybe… find a way out."
Dream Cycle is releasing on September 7 and can be wishlisted on Steam.
