Back 4 Blood developer Turtle Rock Studios shared a few in-game statistics from its recent open beta, including its milestone of hosting more than 5.6 million players during the test period.
Turtle Rock's latest Back 4 Blood data comes in the form of a brand new video, sharing some of the game's most impressive (and most bizarre) in-game stats. The development team expressed their thanks to everyone who took part in the zombie-slaying event, announcing that “Fort Hope is now under maintenance as we make improvements and address feedback".

Back 4 Blood's test ran from August 12 to August 16, where more than 5.6 million people participated in the open beta across all platforms. In that time, over 6.2 billion common Ridden were killed, and more than 164 million special Ridden were eliminated by the Cleaners.
Other interesting tidbits include stats like Cleaners hitting 35 billion weak points and players squaring off in more than 548,357 PvP matches. Also, the Fire Axe was the most popular melee weapon in the beta, while the iconic M4 carbine leads the list for the most used range weapon.
As for character choices, the most popular selection was Walker, who was one of the first four Cleaners introduced in Back 4 Blood. At launch, there will be eight survivors in total, and each Cleaner has different abilities and perks.
Back 4 Blood beta was a huge hit on Steam too, where it reached an impressive milestone of over 120,000 concurrent players, tearing its way through a long list of major competition. The sheer number of active players on Steam alone may indicate that there's notable interest among fans of the Left 4 Dead series.
A couple of weeks ago, Turtle Rock officially announced that Back 4 Blood has gone gold two months ahead of its release date. However, that still doesn't mean we may be without a Day One patch, as the dev team works to implement player feedback from its beta.
Back 4 Blood is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 12. The title will also be joining the Xbox Game Pass catalog at launch for both Xbox consoles and PC. The co-op zombie shooter will support crossplay across all platforms.
