Call of Duty: Vanguard Gunsmith Leaks, Confirming Attachment Count And Max Weapon Level

The PlayStation exclusive Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha may be live now, but not everyone is focused on Champion Hill. As such, Call of Duty: Vanguard dataminers have started exploring the game’s code for details on the game’s gunsmith – and plenty of information has been found.

With the gunsmith having appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it has clearly become the new standard for the franchise. As such, it is hardly a surprise that Call of Duty: Vanguard features a gunsmith system. However, some details of the new gunsmith are particularly interesting. With the screen for the StG 44 Assault Rifle leaking online through @TheGhostOfMW, players have a clear idea what to expect from the attachment count.

While the leaked image only shows slots for the Optic, Muzzle, and Stock, players will surely be able to customize the magazine and a perk slot as well. Intriguingly, the weapon level will reach 71, ensuring that Call of Duty: Vanguard players have just as many attachments to unlock for guns as they did in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, the most surprising discovery can be made by looking at the bottom left corner of the image. Here, it states that the player only has one of ten attachments equipped on their gun.

This would be a huge increase in attachments when compared to other recent Call of Duty games. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, for instance, allowed players to have five attachments by default. While a wildcard called Gunfighter could be equipped to raise this number to eight, it is still two less than what will be usable in Call of Duty: Vanguard. It will be interesting to see how players respond to this change, as it could lead to some significant balancing problems for Call of Duty: Warzone. With most of the other guns in the battle royale game not even having room for ten attachments, adjustments would be necessary.

In addition to the Gunsmith leak, a reputable leaker has shared the long list of attachments that will be available to unlock. With the information coming from @TheMW2Ghost, a source that has been proven correct before and has teased things like Call of Duty: Vanguard’s London Docks remake, this list will likely prove accurate. Based on the leak, there will be plenty of variety in the attachments players can use to improve their arsenal.

With Call of Duty: Vanguard’s engine being pulled straight from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it would make sense for the gunsmith to be a bit similar. Based on this info, though, it seems like it will function exactly like the one seen in the 2019 game.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
