The more recent entries in the Assassin's Creed series are a lot larger than the first few games. Assassin's Creed Odyssey, for instance, has one of the biggest and best maps in the franchise, which is filled with things to do. And you don't just wander around Greece alone, as the game directs you all over the place during its lengthy main story.

But exactly how long is Odyssey? The answer to that question partially depends on how you play. Naturally, if you like to experience everything a game has to offer, Odyssey is going to take you a lot more time to beat than someone just rushing through the story. However, the data gathered by HowLongToBeat allows different playstyles to be taken into account. So, here are players' average playtimes.
How Long It Takes To Beat Assassin's Creed Odyssey
The Eagle Bearer's story is a compelling one. After being betrayed as a young child, the protagonist sets out on an adventure to gain revenge on the Cult Of Kosmos and repair their broken family.
Main Story
If you only want to experience the deep narrative, it will take you around 44 hours. Of course, the time will vary slightly on your skill level and perhaps your difficulty setting. But you can safely expect to spend about 40-50 hours with the game before seeing one of Odyssey's several endings.
Main Story, Plus Additional Side Content
There is a litany of side quests and activities to do in the game. And if you aim to complete most of them along with the main story, you'll be looking at something around an 83+ hour playthrough.

The fact that it's almost double the main narrative shows how much content Odyssey provides.
Full Completion
Completionists are in for a big commitment with this title. From taking out all the mercenaries to wiping out all of the military camps, doing and experiencing everything AC Odyssey has to offer will take 136 hours or so. By comparison, you could do a completionist run of all three Ezio games in about 120 hours.
How Long It Takes To Beat The DLC
While it didn't need the extra content, Ubisoft has also released some expansions for Odyssey. These are the playtimes for all of them:
- The Lost Tales Of Greece: This set of self-contained quests takes around 8-9 hours to beat.
- Legacy Of The First Blade: In this expansion, you learn about the first-ever hidden blade and the man who wielded it. The main story is around 6 hours, but there is some additional content, so completionists will need 10-12 hours to finish everything.
- The Fate Of Atlantis: Arguably the best DLC in the game is all about the mysterious sunken city of Atlantis. Completing the story will take you around 14 hours. But the expansion also comes with a new map that includes plenty of things to do. Therefore, those looking to complete everything will need to set aside 28 hours or so.
