Red Dead Redemption 2 went through a long while with no updates in sight, but last month marked a large update that added new missions, new gear and the new Naturalist role. Now, a new leak suggests that a new major event is coming to Red Dead Online soon.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with Easter eggs and players can always find strange occurrences all over the map. Some sightings have interesting backstories and trigger missions, while others like the Pagan Ritual Site Mystery, have never been solved. Red Dead Online has a history of mysterious supernatural events, and it seems another one will be released.

Players have found a leak linked to an update that contains a Ghost Buck. The Ghost Buck is the same model as a normal buck in Red Dead Online, but appears slightly transparent with a blue glow. The Ghost Buck’s color looks identical to the Ghost Train that players have sighted in Lemoyne, leading players to have interesting theories about the origin of the ghost animal.
Many believe that the Ghost Buck could be the next legendary animal hunted or researched for the Naturalist role. While this may be possible, other theories suggest that the Ghost Buck will be included in a Halloween update. After more datamining, fans discovered other ghost creatures as well. Boars, possums and rabbits have all been found in ghost form and a leaked video suggests that these animals can be controlled.
In a short clip, the Ghost Rabbit can be seen moving around with the camera fixed on it, indicating that this could be gameplay of controlling the ghost animals. According the leak, the update will launch a Halloween event that will take some inspiration straight from Grand Theft Auto Online. During a strange event that included aliens, Grand Theft Auto Online had the psychedelic Peyote plant scattered across Los Santos that would cause players to hallucinate and turn into animals ranging from Sasquatch to a tiny pug.
Now, Red Dead Online may be getting its own version of the Peyote event. The update is rumored to be around Halloween so players may see ghost animals running around in less than two months. If the Red Dead Online Peyote event is like GTA‘s, there will be even more strange events happening besides the hallucinatory drug. Rockstar has not confirmed an update or an event coming soon, but the ghost animals should make an appearance eventually.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
