Activision Confirms All Studios are Developing Call of Duty

Activision confirms all studios are developing Call of Duty games in some shape or form, news confirmed in a new interview with the two studios working on the recently announced Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The news that Activision confirms all studios are developing Call of Duty was noted (via VentureBeat) by both Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch, the two studios that are co-developing Call of Duty: Vanguard.

While those two studios are the main workforce behind the game, they are also getting development support from virtually all the other internal Activision studios like Activision Shanghai, Toys for Bob, Beenox, Demonware, and High Moon Studios.

Other internal studios are working on other Call of Duty games like Raven Software – who are still working on developing Call of Duty: Warzone. Activision also launched a new internal mobile-focused studio, who are working on – you guessed it, a mobile Call of Duty game.

Both Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone are being developed with the focus on both games sharing a cohesive experience, even going so far as to share postlaunch downloadable content. This will start with a reportedly massive new map to replace the current Verdansk map.

Despite the ongoing sexual harassment scandal and lawsuit at the company, there are countless developer still making games at Activision. Call of Duty remains a very profitable and successful franchise for Activision, so they’re naturally tripling down on how much they support the franchise.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been available since March 2020 for Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5, it will be available for Windows PC (via Battle.net), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
