Apex Legends: Emergence Trailer Reveals New World’s Edge, New Gun, And New Arena Maps

Season 10 is almost upon us. Next week, Apex Legends will emerge from its cocoon and bring us a brand new Legend, a refreshed World's Edge map, a new gun, and more.

And it's all detailed in the Emergence trailer that just got posted up earlier today. The trailer really shows off the carnage that's been unleashed on World's Edge, which has gone from a happy little mining operation to a desperate and foolish attempt to stave off nature's wrath.

Senior Apex Legends level designer Garrett Metcalf gave us a nice preview over on Emergence's dedicated web page. Metcalf points out several new points of interest such as the Climatizer, a massive device that's trying to cool down the runaway temperatures of the region, and the Lava Syphon, which is diverting the lava surrounding the caldera so it doesn't plunge everything into molten rock.

Could this be a reflection of our own slow-moving climate disaster? Metcalf doesn’t say, but hopefully we have a few terraforming devices coming in the near future too.

Seer, the new Legend arriving in Season 10, is the other big deal in the Emergence trailer. He doesn't get nearly as much screen time as he did in the EA Play trailer, but we still get to see Seer use his ultimate to completely ruin Valkyrie's day.

Speaking of Valkyrie, our lady flyboy is getting a brand new costume in the Emergence battlepass along with a new Volt SMG skin. Rampart's new toy, the Rampage LMG, will also arrive next season with the ability to turn "Thermite Grenades into literal firepower." No word on exactly how this will work, but the trailer does show Rampart busting open a door using the Rampage, so perhaps the two are related.

There's also the new Ranked Arenas with three new Arenas maps from World's Edge, Kings Canyon, and Olympus. Emergence arrives August 3, but until then, the Thrillseekers event will keep you swimming in new cosmetics.
