The Call of Duty: Warzone Bans Are Real, as Shown in Their Latest Video
Call of Duty: Warzone devs have taken to social media to taunt their system’s cheaters. “We know what you are doing,” they stated in a video. “We are coming for you.” Just last week, Activision announced that another 100,00 accounts have been banned, and it sounds like they have no plans of stopping soon.
Cheating has been such a big problem within the Call of Duty franchise—especially since Warzone’s launch—to the extent that the team behind the game decided to implement a whole new anti-cheat system. In fact, this new feature is constantly being marketed as one of the key components of the next premium CoD title, Vanguard.
The official Call of Duty social media account wrote today that “this is not a drill.” “Banwaves are ongoing,” they wrote. “PC anti-cheat is arriving in Warzone later this year.” The much-awaited anti-cheat feature for PC players of Call of Duty: Warzone will be introduced before the year ends, following the official launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard, in addition to a brand-new game map.
The video that Call of Duty: Warzone devs released on social media apparently shows what they claim is a real reaction of one of their alleged cheaters after getting a hardware and profile ban. The ban completely locked the player out of the game on all available platforms. The video is meant to show CoD fans that Activision will no longer tolerate cheating in their community and will continue to move swiftly and emphatically to ban anyone who cheats within the game.
The banned player had some words to say. “You guys finally got your sh** together,” the player said. “You finally have banned accounts.” Although the player was clearly pissed, he did go on to say that he appreciates the effort. “I am actually happy right now,” he added. “You guys took matters into your own hands and fixed it so now content creators are coming back to the game.”
