Call Of Duty: Warzone Hack Boosts Streamers’ Accounts

Cheating has been running rampant in Call of Duty: Warzone recently, and the latest hack has taken it to a whole new 'level.' According to Eurogamer, quite a few streamers were astonished earlier this week when their accounts were suddenly boosted to level 1000 with all weapon camos unlocked.

This hack, which is far from the first to hit Warzone in recent months, comes just days after Activision forcibly shut down a Youtube channel advertising a machine-learning cheat that employs advanced AI to hack consoles. Before that, a new hack called Silent Aim was causing chaos by allowing players to kill enemies just by shooting in their general direction. Although Raven Software has been heavily targeting cheaters, banning over half a million accounts as of May, hackers are continuing to find new ways to wreak havoc on the game. Not only that, it seems that some players are getting caught in the crossfire. One streamer in particular felt the need to fight off cheating allegations by installing five separate cameras to document his setup.

The latest mischief, like that before it, has been affecting high-profile streamers. For those hit by the hack, not only were their accounts boosted to level 1000 but their Black Ops Cold War weapons were maxed out with all camos unlocked—the elusive Dark Matter camos included. Two of the accounts targeted were NICKMERCS and Swagg, both popular streamers with millions of subscribers on Youtube. Although it’s not clear exactly how players are being targeted, it’s speculated that the hack is spread in-game when a player kills another who has used the hack.

While at first glance this hack may seem harmless, in reality it ruins the experience of the game by making players virtually invincible. For serious gamers who take pride in their skills, the hack is a nuisance at best. At worst, it is the last straw, and reason enough to quit playing altogether. If Activision isn’t able to reign in these instances of cheating and protect players from hackers, they may very well lose fans and permanently damage their reputation.
