Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 may not change the map up very much, but it has added some other new things for players to try out. Alongside new weapons, Call of Duty: Warzone players have a few perks to mess around with.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s new perks are Combat Scout and Tempered. Combat Scout is an interesting ability, as it sees players getting a leg up on the competition whenever they land a shot. Once an enemy is hit, they will be pinged and marked automatically. Tempered is even more useful, as it essentially makes players require less armor to be fully protected. When equipped, only two plates are needed instead of three, letting players get armored up faster and save some plates for later engagements.

Unfortunately, one of these perks may not be working as intended. The latest Call of Duty: Warzone bug seems to be tied to Tempered, the perk that is meant to have a positive effect on the all-important armor plates. As shown by Reddit user AmEn-MiNii, the use of the perk essentially breaks all of the ladders inside Verdansk 84. When attempting to climb up the ladder in one of the buildings, the player remains stuck on the bottom rung, with the animation beginning and ending instantly.
No matter how hard the Call of Duty: Warzone player tries to climb the ladder, nothing changes. Their teammate seems confused, but after they come over to see the issue in action, they are convinced that it is a bug of some kind. AMeN-MiNii even drops all their weapons, thinking that the cause for the glitch is one of the guns that they are carrying. Unfortunately, that is not the case, as leaving the guns on the floor does not solve the strange problem. Eventually, the player suggested another cause for this strange ladder-related issue.
In the video and the post title, they come to the conclusion that it was the Tempered perk preventing them from scaling the ladder. While this does seem like it could be the cause of the issue, some users in the comment section suggest that it is just a general bug with the game. As pointed out by Reddit user Mohamad_Taher, the same exact bug happened to them even though no new perks were equipped. As such, it seems like this ladder problem could be tied to Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 5 update as opposed to the Tempered perk itself.
Right now, though, the Tempered perk is one of the only theories that players seem to have. While players are clearly divided on whether the perk is the cause, what is clear is that there is a new ladder glitch for developer Raven Software to solve.
