As promised earlier this week, Sony delivered brand new footage of Arkane's upcoming co-op/competitive shooter Deathloop. Showing off more gameplay than ever before, this really does appear to be a culmination of all of the developer's previous efforts. There are hints of Dishonored and Prey in here, though with a more arcade kind of approach to gunplay. It all looks very stylish and should prove to be a blast this summer.
In this specific trailer, we get a look at a target known as "The Wolf." Set during a thriving night-time party, portagonist Colt infiltrates the compound to locate Aleksis Dorsey and eliminate them. Since Deathloop's specific hook is that players can backstab each other, Colt eventually gets taken out by Jules after they chat about their past. There's obviously more than meets the eye between the two of them (especially considering she is a villain), something that is bound to be expanded upon over the course of the campaign.

Arkane Studios has been producing quality titles for roughly a decade now and Deathloop looks to continue that trend. For many, this will be their first exposure to Arkane's work and will hopefully get them to go back and play Dishonored or Prey. It would be great to see new installments for both of those titles in the coming years, even if they end up exclusive to Xbox.
Despite Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda earlier this year, Deathloop is scheduled for PC and PS5 on September 14, 2021. There hasn't been any mention of crossplay functionality between the two versions, a feature that would certainly be a great addition to the game. That may potentially come next year if Deathloop is ported to Xbox Series X|S.
