Destiny 2‘s most infamous weapon, Gjallarhorn, is back, thanks to the Bungie 30th Anniversary pack – so here’s how to get it along with the ornaments and catalysts.
Destiny 2 has been steadily adding weapons and gear from the first game since it launched, and we’ve seen the likes of Vex Mythoclast, Bad Juju, and plenty more already make the jump.
One big absentee, from Destiny 2 though, has been Gjallarhorn – becoming a staple of any Guardian’s raid loadout in the first game, with its devastating Wolfpack Rounds perk, meaning it deals huge damage to bosses.
The gun became practically a prerequisite for players first jumping into Vault of Glass, but the Bungie 30th Anniversary pack has finally bought it back. Here’s how to get it.

Gjallarhorn returns to Destiny 2 – but you’ll need to pay for it.
How to get Gjallarhorn in Destiny 2
First thing’s first – you’ll need to buy either the Witch Queen Deluxe Editon and 30th Anniversary Pack bundle, or the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack on its own, to get access to the Gjallarhorn quest.

What’s cool this time around is that Gjallarhorn will pass on its Wolfpack rounds to other players in your Fireteam if they’re using rocket launchers via its new Pack Hunter trait.
- To grab Gjallarhorn, you’ll need to speak to Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome when loading into the game.
- He’ll then give you the “And Out Fly the Wolves” quest.
- Next, he’ll send you to the Grasp of Avarice dungeon to collect a Wolfpack round.
First time in the dungeon? The video below from Esoterickk should get you to the end:
Once that’s returned back to Shaw Han, you’ll need to go seek out powerful Fallen in the Cosmodrome (incidentally a returning Destiny 1 location) to find more Wolfpack Rounds. Once you’ve got them, head back to see him, then Banshee-44 at the Tower.
The last step is the Lost Sector Exodus Garden 2A, then use Shaw Han’s tool bench to build yourself a Gjallarhorn.
Gjallarhorn catalyst in Destiny 2
Gjallarhorn’s catalyst increases the magazine size, allows for orb generation on multikills, and adds in extra explosive potential with an extra missile. To get it, you’ll want to follow these steps:
- Run the Grasp of Avarice dungeon (again)
- When you come up against Reaver Vandals, you’ll want to kill them and grab the Burden by Riches debuff.
- Transfer that to a nearby chest before death. You’ll need to do this with all three chests to get the Catalyst.
- You’ll also need to farm kills using Gjallarhorn – we’d recommend the usual Thrallway in the Shattered Throne dungeon.
The specific chests you need to open can be a little tricky to find. The first one is actually above the walkway you cross when you first descend into the Dungeon, atop some scaffolding.
The second is after the rolling barrel trap. Kill the Vandal, grab the debuff, and head into the vent. Before jumping across to fight the Ogre, head to your right and the chest is waiting on a ledge.
Finally, when you’re in the cannon encounter and all the cannons move into position, one cannon can still be moved. Don’t fire yourself into the final encounter, but instead look for the Vandal carrying the debuff and then fire yourself into the central island.
Gjallarhorn Destiny 2 ornaments
Not only is Gjally back, but its Destiny 2 version gets two new ornaments, too.
GJNKR
This ornament definitely gives off UNSC vibes.
This ornament definitely looks like it’d fit right into Halo, intentionally modeled after that franchise’s SPANKR rocket launcher – and it’s called the GJNKR.
You can pick it up for 700 Silver in the Eververse Store.
Hraesveglur
This black variant of Gjally requires players to complete the Richest Dead Man Alive triumph. You’ll need to find some items hidden in bottles within the new dungeon.
