Disciples: Liberation Is Out In October, New Trailer Revealed

Kalypso Media just shared a new trailer for Disciples: Liberation, from Canadian developer Frima Studio. The new footage reveals that the strategy RPG will launch on October 21.

12 years after the previous entry, the Disciples series is back this fall, offering fans a chance to return to the dark world of Nevendaar. You’ll play as mercenary Avyanna, who recruits other heroes to her army, navigating the vast fantasy open-world and its 13 regions. You'll be able to pursue romantic relationships with other companions (each with their own unique back story to explore), or explore new questlines from them.

In a new short video, Firma shares an intense series of CGI scenes featuring protagonist Avyanna and her dark dreams, and an introduction to her allies — Orion and Corisandre. You also get a new glimpse at Disciples' classic, tactical gameplay sporting turn-based combat.

Firma promises that Liberation will take you on a lengthy ride — it's boasting an 80-hour story campaign, 270 quests, over 50 units to recruit, four uniquely skilled classes (Warlord, Hexblade, Seeress, or Witch), and five different endings. If that's not enough, you still have epic boss fights, difficult moral choices to make, and even a two-player online skirmish mode.

The last time we saw Disciples was in 2009 when Disciples 3: Renaissance, from Russian developer .dat, launched. However, the Liberation developer says the upcoming game marks a new beginning for the franchise, so fans should probably expect more of the series in the near future. The devs have noted they want to stay true to the series’ core values while introducing new features for fans.

Disciples: Liberation is coming on October 21 to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, where you can already pre-order the game with a 10 percent discount. Liberation will also launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 with full controller support and adapted interface.
