Final Fantasy 7 Remake Coming to PC at a Steep Price

Square Enix Decided It’s Going to Push a High Base Price

Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been a highly anticipated game for fans of the franchise. Even with the game broken down into two parts, with DLCs, that hasn’t slowed any fan’s stride. But this latest move may give even the biggest gamer pause.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Apparently, while the game is set to be released in the Epic Games Store on December 16, 2021, the game will not come at a reduced price. Instead, it will come at the full price that can be attained on consoles, which is about 70 USD. This is a pretty unusual move for a regular edition of a game, especially as there are no goodies that will be added, and this is just a regular edition of the game. There will not even be special soundtracks to download or anything else added to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake experience.

Square Enix wants to do this with an upcoming title too, Forspoken, when it’s released in May 2022. It seems that the big gaming company wants to make this a regular, normal thing for transferring onto PC, rather than starting with this as an initial price and lowering it.

This isn’t the first time that triple-A titles have come out at a steep price for PCs. There’s been the recent Battlefield 2042, and Call of Duty: Vanguard which came out at a cost of 60 USD. And, too, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be coming at the sixty-dollar price mark too. And if you take into consideration that there’s a higher price mark up for triple-A games currently when they’re released in international markets, that can make them cost a heck of a lot more- up to thirty percent more, according to SteamDB.

This isn’t to take away from the fact that we will be able to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PC. It’s great news, and it means that those with consoles can enjoy what could have been a console exclusive. And maybe being able to pay for the game through Epic Games with only the currency conversion rate will make it easier for people to pay, and play, a game they so wanted.
