A new Fortnite leak appears to have revealed Shang-Chi will be the latest in a long line of Marvel heroes added to the game.
Epic Games continues to work with any and all major franchises willing to buddy up for a Fortnite collaboration. Well, apart from the studio behind Among Us which was willing to work with Epic but wasn't contacted about Fortnite's new mode, Impostors. Despite the major crossovers Fortnite has enjoyed, Marvel is still its biggest partner by quite some way.
Marvel and Fortnite's partnership has been ongoing for years at this point, and next week it might well add yet another hero to its roster. Hypex, a Twitter account with a great track record for accurate leaks, has discovered clues buried in the game seemingly revealing a Shang-Chi skin will be added to the game on September 2.

If true, the timing certainly adds up. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will arrive in theaters and on Disney Plus the following day on September 3. Allowing Fortnite's millions of players the chance to assume the identity of Shang-Chi and go about their battle royale business on opening weekend makes good business sense. There's also the possibility Shang-Chi gets his own tournament, allowing a select few to win the skin for free before everyone else.
A few Marvel heroes have already received the tournament treatment. Venom, Black Widow, and Gamora all had cups where they could be won before being added to the in-game store. They can be found in-game alongside other Marvel heroes such as Thor, She-Hulk, and Dr. Doom. Not to mention quite a few DC heroes too such as Superman and Wonder Woman who also got her very own cup.
Fortnite's Marvel crossovers will likely start to ramp up again in the coming months. Shang-Chi will keep the Marvel ball rolling when it is released next week. Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home will also be here before the end of 2021, not to mention Hawkeye on Disney Plus. Sony also has Venom 2 on its release slate, although a new report claims the sequel is about to be moved to January 2022.
