Gabriel Luna Is Replaying The Last Of Us On Grounded

Gabriel Luna has been gifted a PS5 and will be using it to replay The Last Of Us Parts 1 and 2 to prepare for his role as Tommy in the TV adaptation.

HBO's The Last Of Us might not have a release date, and probably won't be ready to go for a very long time, but production is officially well underway. Photos from the set have surfaced online, one of which shows a few members of the cast in a car, and others showing what looks like the backdrop for what will be the series' first episode.

The cast of the show also continues to grow as it was recently revealed Gabriel Luna will play the role of Tommy, Joel's brother. Luna revealed on Instagram that he has already played through both games. However, he now plans on doing so again on Grounded mode. If you die while playing on The Last Of Us's hardest difficulty, then you must return to the very beginning of the game.

“I’m going to replay 1 and 2 in the mode where if you get whacked you have to go back to the start,” Luna revealed on Instagram. The revelation was accompanied by a photo of the actor alongside his brand new PS5. The console was apparently gifted to him by PlayStation and The Last Of Us writer, Neil Druckmann.

The games will likely look even better than they did during Luna's first playthrough. The remastered version of the first game is now available and can be played for free on PS5 as a part of the PS Plus Collection. The Last Of Us 2 recently received a free PS5 update. The first game will reportedly be receiving the same treatment, but will likely be released as a standalone remastered game that you will need to buy separately.

There is a lot for fans of The Last Of Us to be excited about right now, in both the TV and the video game world. Not only is a PS5 version of the first game being in the works, but Naughty Dog appears to be hiring for Part 2's multiplayer element. It was initially going to be a part of the game but has instead been held off and may eventually be released as its own game. It has also been revealed that an outline for Part 3 has already been written, but that doesn't mean the game will ever be made.
