Game Will Have PS5’s In Stock From 10 AM Today

Game has confirmed it will be putting a fresh batch of PS5s on sale from 10 am this morning, so act now if you want one.

Reports that Game would have more PS5s for sale this morning have now been confirmed by the retailer. The consoles are on sale right now and a virtual queue has started to form, so join it now if you want to be in with a chance of finally landing a new-gen console after eight months of waiting. You can head to the Game website right now to join the queue.

Despite launching in November of last year, PS5s are still proving notoriously hard to find for a number of reasons. Many of you reading this will be all too accustomed to sitting in virtual queues thousands of people long only to be told consoles ran out a while ago once you reach the end of it.

The pandemic is partly to blame for PS5s still being so hard to come all these months after launch. A worldwide semiconductor shortage continues to render not just consoles, but all electronics hard to manufacture and distribute. That issue doesn't look like it will resolve itself anytime soon with shortages continued to last until at least the end of the year and probably into 2022.

Scalpers have also played a big part in consoles being snapped up before many people can get to them. Retailers have been attempting to stop that from happening, but don't seem to have been having much luck. One 16-year-old claims to have made $1.7 million reselling new consoles and Pokemon Cards since the PS5 launched last November. Pokemon cards have also experienced a boom recently, making them hot ticket items on resale sites.

Despite ongoing shortages, Sony continues to confirm that a lot of its PS5s are ending up in the right hands. It sold 7.8 million by the end of FY 2021, slightly more than the PS4 managed before the end of its own first financial year. Sony is also hopeful that the PS5 will break even more records, especially when anyone who wants one can buy one. If those projections come true, the PS5 will have the best financial year ever for a PlayStation console in 2023.
