Earlier this year, we saw Electronic Arts' Codemaster acquisition finalized and the Grid franchise officially listed under the publisher's umbrella. Today, during EA Play, Codemasters revealed its next installment will follow as Grid Legends, out in 2022.
Grid Legends will feature an "underdog tale" with a new focus on narrative FMV-style cutscenes will include the Sex Education star and award winner Ncuti Gatwa, who will join alongside a cast of two other main characters. EA promises to deliver "drama across every inch of the tack."

This latest entry to the Grid series features over 100 vehicles, including big rigs, trucks, classic touring cars, and single-seaters. You'll cruise through more than 130 tracks, featuring locations in San Francisco, Paris, London, Moscow, and more. This installment of Grid seeks to deliver "more variety and choice," as drivers can pick from a plethora of upgrades and dive into the race creator.
Grid Legends doesn't have a specific release date just yet, but it's out some time in 2022 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
