343 Industries has been making a lot of different moves with Halo Infinite. Before the title’s delay into 2021, it announced that Sperasoft would be helping with development. Yesterday, Certain Affinity – which has worked on multiplayer in the series for years – also announced its collaboration. 343 Industries has now announced that Joseph Staten, who formerly worked at Bungie for storylines on Halo and Destiny, has joined as project lead.

In its community update post, the developer said that Staten will be “focused on supporting the campaign team’s existing, talented, creative leaders and ensuring they have everything they need to create an awesome Halo game.” On another note, it was announced that Pierre Hintze, head of the publishing team for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, would be joining as the project lead for the free to play multiplayer. Hintze’s experience with new content, the flighting programs for various betas and updates to the collection in recent times have been cited as contributing factors.

Halo Infinite is currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. It will launch next year and contrary to rumors, there are no plans to delay it to 2022 or to drop the current-gen version. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months because it’s going to be a long wait.
