Hollow Knight-Inspired Crowsworn Reaches Its Last Stretch Goal

The world of indie games can be both exciting and stressful to developers. It allows for more creative freedom for developers, but can also be very stressful when looking for funding. Luckily for the makers of Crowsworn, money soon won't be an issue when it comes to the studio's Hollow Knight-inspired game.

Mongoose Rodeo, a game development company located in Canada, has just posted on its official Twitter page that its game has absolutely crushed the Crowsworn Kickstarter stretch goals. Now, the company has reached the last leg of the fundraising expectations and is close to raising $1 million for the game.

If it reaches its final stretch goal, Mongoose Rodeo will be able to implement fully animated cutscenes into Crowsworn. The cutscenes will be animated with the same quality as the intro trailer but will be made by a separate company called Vulture Head Studio. Vulture Head Studio being another indie game company with previous titles consisting of Children of Morta, The Ultimate Force, and The Polar Bear.

Previous Kickstarter goals for Crowsworn include a free Isles of Vladar DLC pack, which allows fans to explore the history behind the game in these ancient tombs. Additionally, gamers can also get a physical Ruined Library SteelBook Case version of the game as a complimentary upgrade upon purchase. The artwork for the Steelbook case is done by Dave Rapoza, who has worked for high-profile clients such as Marvel, Blizzard Entertainment, and Epic Games.

Some of the previous stretch goals that have also been completed are adding a boss rush mode, an extra-difficult nightmare mode, and an enemy horde mode called "Tribunal of the Damned." Voice actors will also be added into the game to make the characters and NPCs feel more alive. Backers who donate $20 or more will also be able to get their hands on the dev version of the game, which includes extra features unavailable in the original version.

In the tweet, Mongoose Rodeo shows gratitude towards its supporters for helping the company reach this goal. Hopefully, Mongoose Rodeo makes the most out of this large sum of money and gives fans the game they deserve. There has been a lot of success on Kickstarter with games such as Hat In Time, which was highly regarded by many gamers as a great success. Sadly, other games such as Yooka-Laylee have also had great success on Kickstarter but were met with mixed reviews from fans. In the end, it is up to Mongoose Rodeo to make sure the company does not rush development and puts all the necessary polish on the game before its eventual release.

Crowsworn has no official release date, but the game is aiming for a late 2023 launch.
