As you travel with your trusted companions in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, you'll visit different areas, make new friends, and more importantly — encounter new monsters. During the storyline of the Alcala region, you'll be tasked with tacking down a Basarios in Harzgai Rocky Hill.

However, Basarios disguises itself to look like the rocks that you can gather from within this area, so how can you tell the two apart? We have a guide right here to show you the difference between the two.
How to Tell the Difference Between Basarios and Rocks
Harzgai Rocky Hill is the only place in the game that has large rocky outcrops that you can gather from and it's these rocks that Basarios will disguise itself as. The trick to discerning which is the monster and which are just normal rocks is that Basarios is a slightly darker shade of grey and has no moss on it at all. You can see in the image above the normal rocks compared to the Basarios that we have marked.

Here's everything you need to know about how best to defeat Basarios as well as what items you can obtain from defeating it. Basarios eggs can also be found in Monster Dens throughout Alcala and have a white and brown tiger stripe pattern to them.
