Bandai Namco has announced ILCA is developing a new Ace Combat game, news confirmed during the Ace Combat series 25th anniversary livestream.
Towards the end of the livestream, series producer Kazutoki Kono announced ILCA is developing a new Ace Combat game jointly with Bandai Namco.
“I think the most exciting thing for everyone is that the next game has begun to move forward,” Kono said. “A new Ace Combat, a new era, will be created with the members present here.”
He added, “I don’t know where we’ll be in the next 25 years, but the Ace Combat series will continue, and I’m sure that the people who support us, the people who work with us, and me, we’ll continue to do our best.”
It makes sense that Bandai Namco is working on a follow up to the series, considering the previous game released a few years ago and saw success, as well as lots of post-launch downloadable content.
ILCA is the team behind the upcoming Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl remakes, as well as The Idolmaster: Starlit Season. Previously they handled a bunch of other games, including the in-game movies and environments for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, which has been available since 2019.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
