Blackpink in Your Area
PUBG just got its own crossover feature with one of the biggest girl bands in today’s pop music industry. Blackpink, the first K-Pop girl group to amass 1 billion views on YouTube, is coming to PUBG. Krafton has confirmed that K-Pop fans—young and old—can enjoy a special Blackpink event for a limited time.
PC PUBG players can get a headstart on this event since they can get access to it ahead of the console players, specifically from August 8 to September 7—which is almost one full month. On the other hand, PlayStation and Xbox owners can begin their PUBG-Blackpink crossover experience on August 12. Although they had to wait a bit longer than the PC players, the event will have a longer time frame for them as the console version will end on September 15.
Through this crossover, PUBG players who are Blackpink fans can participate in special in-game event missions which would give them Blackpink-themed items. These include contraband coupons, a level three helmet, and many more. Thirty-five distinct items will be on sale in total and can be purchased until the end of the year. Each member of the famous girl group will have their own cosmetic bundles featured, such as an outfit, weapon, nameplate, emote, and themed hair.
In addition to themed items, PUBG’s world maps will also showcase some changes that are in accordance to this special crossover event. Decorations all over the maps will be featured, such as plane banners, building graffitis, and supply crates.
The Blackpink content will be available in esports mode, ranked matches, and even in battle royale. PUBG maps that have been tweaked to make way for this crossover are Vikendi, Miramar, and Erangel. For some reason, however, Taego—the new map for PUBG Season 12—will not be included.
