You can now get official Pokemon doughnuts from Krispy Kreme to celebrate the franchise turnining 25, but only if you live in Australia.
Krispy Kreme is no stranger to pairing up with other big companies to create something special. That includes the video game world as over the summer, it released the limited edition Nexus Doughnut. An Xbox-themed dessert covered in green icing and filled with brownie better. Pretty delicious, but exlusive to British branches of the doughnut conglomerate.
It's now the turn of Auatralia to get its very own gaming doughnuts. Not Xbox, but Pokemon. Not just a single type of doughnut either. There are five different Pokemon doughnuts available across Australian branches of Krispy Kreme right now, the designs, flavors, and fillings of which can be found below.
RELATED: The Nexus Doughnut Review: Xbox 'Em Up, We Want Another Dozen
- Pokeball – Original Glazed
- Pikachu – Chocolate creme and dipped in white truffle
- Bulbasaur – Green apple icing, sand sugar and a creme swirl
- Charmander – Vanilla custard and dipped in white truffle
- Squirtle – Strawberry filled and dipped in white chocolate
The doughnuts cost AU$3.75 each, or you can buy a box of 12 for AU$29.95. The dozen doughnuts include one of each of the Pokemon selection, an extra Pikachu doughtnut, and six regular original glazed doughtnuts.
You have to think The Pokemom Company is starting to run out of ways to celebrate Pokemon turning 25. It has already released New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Unite with Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl still to come before the end of 2021. Add to that Pokemon cards in happy meals, Pikachu singing with Katy Perry, and dress shirts with Torchic on, just about every avenue has been explored.
As for you video game playing doughnut lovers, the hope is that Krispy Kreme will keep partnering with other companies and making its way around the world. The UK got Xbox, Australia has Pokemon, perhaps Marvel would be interested in releasing some doughtnuts in the US. Venom 2 hits theaters on October 1, maybe the anti-hero can have his very own doughnut to celebrate.
