The LG 17G90Q Seems to Be a Great First Gaming Laptop
The LG 17G90Q is their first foray into gaming laptops, and they have come out swinging with a powerful model. The laptop features an 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake H processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual-channel memory, and an ultra-fast dual SSD setup.
The laptop also features a 17-inch IPS panel with a one-millisecond response time and a 300Hz refresh rate. Those are certainly fantastic features that would please just about any gamer.
The LG 17G90Q also features a streamlined and lightweight design. The laptop features a large screen and 93Wh battery while maintaining a thickness of under 0.84 inches and a weight of less than 5.952 pounds. The laptop has an aluminum casing with the winged UltraGear logo on display.
Like many prominent gaming devices, The LG 17G90Q also features LG UltraGear Studio, which lets users customize gaming-related options and track various performance data – including CPU clock, GPU TDP and clock, and memory share rate – in real-time. The software also allows you to change the color of any individual key on the keyboard. If you really love RGB, then this is great. I just could never bother to do that.
LG also made sure their laptop features some high-quality sound. It features dual speakers that supports DTS:X Ultra. The speakers accurately convey the directionality and location of sound.
Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company, had this to say:
“The LG UltraGear gaming laptop has everything needed to tackle the latest high-spec games, delivering the smooth, responsive gameplay that all gamers want. Our first-ever gaming laptop, the 17G90Q, differentiates itself from competing products with its premium hardware, generous, high-quality screen, and a sleek, lightweight design that maximizes convenience and portability.”
