Much like the original before it, the upcoming Lost Judgment (sequel to 2018's Judgment) will feature Japanese and English voice-over options. For those interested in the English option, Sega has finally unveiled the cast of actors portraying Yagami and friends and it's filled with familiar names from the anime scene. Along with Greg Chun reprising his role from the first game, you'll also find Steve Blum as Higashi Toru and Erica Lindbeck as Sawa Yoko.
Here is the cast listing for Lost Judgment's English VO:
- Takayuki Yagami – Gren Chun
- Akihiro Ehara – Artt Butler
- Masaharu Kaito – Crispin Freeman
- Saori Shirosaki – Stephanie Sheh
- Jin Kuwana – Todd Haberkorn
- Kazuki Soma – Matt Y. King
- Yoko Sawa – Erica Lindbeck
- Toru Higashi – Steve Blum
- Issei Hoshino – Joe Zieja

While I personally cannot play with the English option (I'm far too used to the Japanese at this point), I have to commend Sega for including it alongside the original language. As revealed to me in an interview with Yakuza series localization lead Scott Strichart, one of the largest barriers for new fans was the Japanese dialogue. When Sega received the statistics from VO usage in Judgment, it was clear that adding English would only help the series rather than hinder it. It doesn't hurt that the English is quite good, meaning those that opt for it won't be getting an inferior experience by any means.
Whichever option you do go for, Lost Judgment will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia on September 21, 2021. It looks to be an excellent continuation of the first game.
