Mass Effect Fan Shares Stylish Art Of Garrus, Tali, And Shepard

The Mass Effect fan base has always used fan art to show their love for the franchise. As such, while the concept of the Mass Effect characters exploring the universe in some art is nothing new, the style used by one fan helps their piece stand out.

As mentioned in the post’s title, the fan chooses two Mass Effect companions who were there from the beginning. For this art piece, Reddit user odangowitch depicts Geralt and Tali following Shepard on their adventure. Not only do these characters get plenty of time to develop, as they have large roles in all three of the games, but they also boast some extremely memorable romances. With players dancing with the justice-seeking Turian and seeing the face of the lovable Quarian if they pursue them, fans have plenty of reasons to love both characters.

While Tali and Garrus fan art would be neat as is, odangowitch also adds Commander Shepard to their piece. Specifically, the female version of Shepard is used for the piece, with the artist capturing her default look. The idea of Shepard exploring a location with only two companions fits, too, as the player character has been limited to bringing two companions with them in BioWare’s sci-fi RPG series thus far. However, the coolest thing about odangowitch’s piece is not the accuracy, but the art style.

Mass Effect players had a lot to say about the fan’s artwork, with all of the comments on the post praising the unique style. While realistic pieces that capture the characters exactly how they are in the games work well, odangowitch proves that this is not the only style that can be used effectively. The artist takes an upbeat, cartoony approach to their design. Garrus looks cuter and less intimidating, while Shepard boasts exaggerated features like a long nose and huge eyes.

The backdrop fits this style well, as the planet the characters landed on is upbeat and cheery. Red flowers can be seen around the feet of Shepard and her companions, while snowy mountaintops can be seen in the background. Other planets can even be made out in the background, showing a great eye for detail and making it clear that this planet is just one part of a larger galaxy. In the comments, Redditor StarkSpider24 pointed out the planet’s similarity to the one used for No Man’s Sky’s cover, a fitting comparison given the Normandy’s appearance in the game.

Alongside some accuracy and a lovely art style, odangowitch explains that the art shows the crew outside since they are stuck in lockdown in real life. A perfect reason to make and share this Mass Effect creation, hopefully the fan will be free to explore the world like Shepard and their allies very soon.
