One Mass Effect player has taken matters into their own hands when it comes to a glitch that causes Asari to have human hands in Mass Effect 2.
While this glitch dates back to the original release of Mass Effect 2, the recently released Mass Effect Legendary Edition seemed to patch that issue, but evidently didn’t catch all of them. Now, a mod has been released that will correct this and give the Asari their proper digits back.
This fix-it mod comes from Marcus22Khaar over on NexusMods. According to them, they noticed that the human hand glitch had been somewhat patched in the Legendary Edition of Mass Effect, but the patch didn’t quite catch all of them. It is still possible to run into an Asari rocking some flesh-colored fingers in the Citadel, so they decided to fix this issue with the “Citadel Asari Hands (BugFix) ME2LE” mod.

Not only does this mod ensure that all the Asari in the citadel retain their blue hands, but it also adds some extra corrections to props placement around the Zakera levels, which was an addition made by the Project Variety mod from the same creator.
The mod also fixes the Asari hands in the Garrus loyalty level. Unfortunately, the mod does not expand to include Thane’s loyalty mission as that was, according to Marcus22Khaar, “a whole different level of mess, full of wrong assigned materials and low poly meshes on mostly EVERY NPC!”.
Of course, this is not the first mod to be released for Mass Effect Legendary Edition. From reverting the Mako to its old janky glory and adding new romance options to giving the Hanar race nipples, modders have had a field day with the updated release. All of these are new mods are likely because BioWare actually consulted with modders during the development of the game and has allowed mods to be easily applied. It has also allowed for a “modding Renaissance” to occur as many other games, such as Resident Evil Village, are getting the mod treatment.
