Moonglow Bay Is A Minecraft-Esque Fishing RPG, Launches October 7

Minecraft-esque fishing/sailing RPG Moonglow Bay was shown off during Gamescom's Future Games Show, giving us a closer look at some of the gameplay as well as a release date. Moonglow Bay was first revealed during Xbox's Indie Showcase earlier this year, but it's now been revealed that the game will be launching on October 7 for PC on Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Those playing on Xbox will also be pleased to know that Moonglow Bay will be available to download from Xbox Game Pass on the day of release. For those of you playing on PC, you can now go and wishlist the game on Steam to keep up to date on development and be notified when the game releases later this year.

As can be seen from the game's release date trailer, players will be tasked with going to a variety of different environments and locations in order to catch fish to keep your business afloat. Moonglow Bay's whole story revolves around you trying to make enough money to stave off bankruptcy as you try to fulfill your partner's final wish.

According to the game's Steam page, the game's story will be split into "several distinct story arcs" and features a completely inhabited town to explore as well as epic seafaring encounters with the "Mystical Monsters of Moonglow"

Despite sounding quite intense, the game prides itself on being a "relaxing, slice-of-life fishing RPG" that you can throw on to chill out a bit. Moonglow Bay's soothing soundtrack and colorful Minecraft-esque art style backs up that description. Make sure to check out Moonglow Bay when it launches on October 7 if it sounds like your thing.

Also announced during Gamescom's Future Games Show was a vague release date for the creature-collecting open-world title DokeV, a new gameplay trailer for indie soulslike Project Relic, and the announcement of the full release of the "medieval Grand Theft Auto" game Rustler which is set to launch at the end of this month.
