More Pokemon Legends: Arceus Info Is Coming "Soon"

An interview between video gane outlet GamesBeat and The Pokemon Company has revealed that we'll be getting more information about Pokemon Legends: Arceus "soon." News about the next installment in the Pokemon series has been very thin on the ground since the game's reveal at the beginning of 2021. All we know is a pencilled in release date, but it sounds like that might be changing soon.

According to JC Smith, The Pokémon Company International's senior director of consumer marketing, a "robust rollout" is in the works and that more information regarding Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be available "soon." It's likely that another Pokemon Presents is planned for later in the year, and it would be very odd for Nintendo not to show off the upcoming Diamond and Pearl remakes alongside Arceus as well.

From what little we can gather from Pokemon Legends: Arceus' trailers, the game is going to be much different from your standard Pokemon affair. For starters, the game is to be set in an ancient version of the Sinnoh region, and will have players sneaking up on Pokemon and throwing a PokeBall to capture them, rather than the standard capture via battle that we're used to.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is expected to launch on January 28, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, although a delay could still be on the cards as the game's initial reveal trailer looks pretty rough.

Fortunately for those that can't wait, Nintendo is also remaking Pokemon Diamond and Pearl to tide you over until next January. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are complete remakes of their respective games that don't stray too far away from the originals, although it's still unknown as to whether they will contain the enhancements from Pokemon Platinum or any of Platinum's storyline.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are set to launch on November 19 later this year for Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders currently open now.
