New Pokemon Snap: How To Find Every New Pokemon In Secret Side Path

Secret Side Path is one of three new maps that has been added to New Pokemon Snap as part of its recent August update. As well as additional maps, Snap has also received 20 brand new species of Pokemon and a shrinking mechanic that will likely hit fans of the original game with a massive pang of nostalgia.

While all of the new maps have their own new species, Secret Side Path's layout is probably the most novel given that it's currently the only map in the game compatible with the aforementioned shrinking mechanic. As a result, you might struggle to find all of the new 'mons here.

New Pokemon Snap: Every New Pokemon In Secret Side Path

Secret Side Path adds three new Pokemon to New Pokemon Snap's already impressive roster. This is much lower than the number of new 'mons that show up in Mightyside River and the Barren Badlands, although it includes some fan-favourites that people will definitely want to add to their Photodex as soon as possible.

Here are all of the new Pokemon featured in New Pokemon's Snap's Secret Side Path map:

  • Snorlax
  • Shroomish
  • Foongus

New Pokemon Snap: Where To Find Every New Pokemon In Secret Side Path

While it's easy to list off all of the new Pokemon added to New Pokemon Snap as part of this week's update, actually finding them can be a bit tougher. Secret Side Path has the easiest requirements for a 100 percent Photodex out of the three new maps, but it can still be tricky to get a decent snap of Snorlax.

Here's how to find Shroomish, Foongus, and Snorlax in New Pokemon Snap.

  • Shroomish: After loading up Florio Nature Park (Day), you'll need to go through the map as normal until you go past where Heracross usually is. When you reach the middle section of the map – around the part where you can turn right to take the Bidoof's Dam alternate route – use your scanner and look to the trees on your left. One tree, right before where Shaymin is, has a hole in it. This is where you can test out the NEO-ONE's all new shrink function. Follow the path naturally and you'll find Shroomish chilling out by some blue and white mushrooms. If you hit the Crystabloom next to it, play a melody and snap all three Shroomish dancing at the same time to earn a four-star photo.
  • Foongus: After getting Secret Side Path (Day) to level two, visit Secret Side Path (Night) and you'll find Foongus where Shroomish is during the day.
  • Snorlax: In Secret Side Path (Day) level two, go past Wurmple and stop right before Pichu and Scorbunny. After Dodrio jumps down and scares them, spam your scanner while Dodrio skulks through the long grass. This will unlock an alternate route, which will take you right to Snorlax, who is snoozing soundly in a little outcropping off the main path.
