New Season 15 Destiny 2 Iron Banner Weapons and Armor Revealed

Bungie is starting to tease what Guardians have to look forward in Destiny 2's Season 15, now that Season of the Splicer is winding down. The first previews are teasing some of the adjustments in the works for the game's sandbox, while the studio has been relatively quiet about the gear Guardians will be grinding for. However, Bungie has broken that silence and given a first look at some of the fresh armor and weapons to earn when Season 15 kicks off on August 24.

In the latest This Week at Bungie post, community manager DMG spent most of it covering some of the mod and exotic tuning Bungie has in the works for Season 15. He followed this information dump by debuting the new Iron Banner gear Guardians will be grinding for when Lord Saladin returns to the Tower in September. While previous seasons saw mostly armor reprisals, Season 15's armor will be brand new sets along with two new weapons to grind out god rolls on.

Season 15's Iron Banner armor, dubbed the Iron Forerunner sets, will be the fifth armor set introduced in the competitive PvP mode. The armor set will come with a new intrinsic perk, Iron Lord's Pride, to incentivize wearing the armor inside the Iron Banner. If a Guardian is wearing a piece of the set, they will have a small chance to earn an Enhancement Prism at the end of an Iron Banner match. Each additional piece increases the chances of getting a prism, capping at four pieces.

As for weapons, Guardians will be able to grind for a new pulse rifle and sidearm in the style of Season of the Splicer's Iron Banner weapons. Players will be able to grind the Forge's Pledge pulse rifle and Peacebond sidearm through the seasonal Iron Banner quest, end of match drops, vendor packages, and bounties. However, Bungie did not say what pulse and sidearm frames the weapons fall under.

The new Iron Banner gear continues Bungie's recent trend of giving the Crucible some much needed love as the studio builds to the release of The Witch Queen. Season 15 is set to be the jumping off point for this with some much needed adjustments coming to Destiny 2 PvP addressing many player complaints since Beyond Light's release. The two biggest changes planned are Stasis rebalancing and an end to sword 3-peaking, the latter of which has been a consistent problem in Trials of Osiris since it was brought back in Season of the Worthy.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
