Next Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced for Tomorrow

Nintendo has just revealed its next Indie World Showcase, and it is much sooner than fans might have expected. Tomorrow (August 11th) at 12 PM Eastern Time, the next Indie World Showcase will go live. This announcement has been met with mixed reactions from fans on Twitter, but it does seem as though there's a general air of excitement about it. Previous Indie World Showcases have gone well, but it's important for fans to set their expectations appropriately. Understandably, many fans are wanting to see news about Breath of the Wild 2 or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but this is very unlikely to happen tomorrow.

This will be all about Indie games, and those all fall under the category of triple 'A' games, so don't expect to see them. Instead, this showcase will help to highlight the hard work of independent video game creators, so players should certainly show their support. It's great to see a platform as big as Nintendo giving these smaller projects the spotlight.

As the tweet below shows, the showcase will be about 20 minutes long, and will show off some upcoming Indie games that are making their way onto the Nintendo Switch platform. There's no telling which games will be shown here, but fans definitely seem to have some high hopes. One common request in the responses to the tweet below is for Hollow Knight: Silksong to get another trailer, while many other players are hoping to see what's next for Cuphead. These Indie games could certainly appear at the showcase, but it's not a guarantee.

The link above to watch the stream is actually already live, although the show itself doesn't start until tomorrow. Unfortunately, there appears to be a large portion of the fanbase that are expecting triple A showings, and that simply won't happen. It's best to understand what the event is for ahead of time so as to avoid disappointment. On the bright side, for those fans that care more about the triple A games, these Indie World Showcases are typically followed by a full on Nintendo Direct within a month or so.

Be sure to tune in at 12 PM ET on August 11th to get the latest news about Indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch. These games offer creative and imaginative premises from talented independent developers and deserve all the attention they can get. What's more, Indie games tend to be cheaper than the standard $60 price tag players are used to, so they are a great way to get some fun for cheap.
