PAX West Changes COVID-19 Policy, Will Now Require Proof Of Vaccination Or Negative Test

The PAX West team has taken a second look at its COVID-19 policies, revising them so attendees will now need to show proof of vaccination or a negative test before entering the convention. Facemask will also be required, with all attendees required to wear a visible facemask at all times.

It's a big reversal, and one that's the result of event coordinators working with state and local authorities to help keep everyone safe. Vaccine mandates for the event were previously missing, but it seems PAX West has finally taken a firm stance – prove you're vaccinated or COVID negative, otherwise you won't be attending.

"Prior to entry we will now require proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series or a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test, each to be verified with a valid, government-issued ID," reads the announcement. "If you have purchased badges and have questions or concerns about this requirement, please reach out to PAX Questions."

PAX West 2021 will be the first time the event is held in person since the start of the pandemic. It will take place in Seattle from September 3 to September 6, and will be filled with the usual assortment of panels, expo halls, and pin trading.
