The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim community is one that is very keen to get as much out of the game as possible. Despite being a decade old this year, the game is still thrilling players old and new. With mods that completely change the epic open world RPG, to people cosplaying as their favorite NPCs, it's a hugely popular installment of the long running franchise. In fact, some people love the game so much, that they want to recreate aspects of it in other titles, as one fan has done.
In a recent post on the Valheim Subreddit, user _Vinrenu_ uploaded a short video which shows that they've managed to build the city of Whiterun from Skyrim in the independent Viking-themed online game. The four-minute clip shows the player walking through the original, with edits that show the same part as reimagined in Valheim, effectively doing a side-by-side comparison. The result is an impressively accurate facsimile of the large Tamriel settlement.

The recreation has received a lot of praise in the thread, with many offering words of congratulations on a job well done. One user inquired about the Whiterun Skyforge bird, which was carved directly into the stone, and is the place where the blacksmith Eorlund Gray-Mane beavers away at his work. When asked whether they'd used debug mode, _Vinrenu_ said it was actually built by another user, who is an active member on the Valheim server that was used to make the Whiterun replica. It suggests that the project was a team effort. Another commenter expressed disbelief that their work seems to have gone a little underappreciated, especially given the skill that's gone into it.
The original Whiterun is one of the most popular locations in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. While it's not the first town that players are likely to come across during a new playthrough, that's usually Riverwood, but it's almost certainly one of the biggest cities that fans will likely encounter first. More often than not, it's a city that will be returned to, particularly as it houses such things as traders, blacksmiths, a house for sale, Dragonsreach where the Jarl resides, and all manner of Skyrim taverns including the Bannered Mare.
With Valheim getting the Hearth and Home update soon, the survival sandbox game became hugely successful in such a short time, having only been out since February 2021. Both this and Skyrim are thematically similar, what with the Viking aesthetic, although the former is very much tied to the real lore, whereas the former is more generally inspired by it.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available on PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
