Soul Eater: The 10 Strongest Demon Weapons In The Series, Ranked

Death Weapon Meisters populate the world of Soul Eater, and it's their job to fight various supernatural threats across the realm. At a young age, Meisters have to train in schools specially curated to teach them how to wield Death Weapons. And it's their resonance and connection to these humanoid weapons that allow Meisters to tap into their hidden supernatural powers.

In the series, protagonist Mika Albarn and her partner Soul Eater, a scythe, train alongside her peers and rivals in Death Weapon Meister Academy. However, as her adventures would show, more Meisters have far deadlier Death Weapon partners.

10 Tsubaki Nakatsukasa

Albeit not a Death Scythe, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa's nature as a Demon Weapon is not to be trifled with. In her humanoid form, Tsubaki already boasts remarkable intellect as well as enhanced speed and reflexes. Due to her training, Tsubaki works well with Black Star to dish out martial arts combos.

Unlike other weapons, Tsubaki has access to a unique Multi-Form feature – enabling her to transform into various weapons depending on Black Star's needs. As a result, Tsubaki can become a Ninja Sword and Chain Scythe or even unique forms such as Smoke Bomb and as doppelgangers of people! However, her most potent form lies in her Uncanny Sword form – a lethal long sword that enables Tsubaki to control shadows.

9 Ragnarok

Albeit not among Death's prestigious Death Scythes, Ragnarok has a unique nature that makes him quite the powerful Demon Weapon. Naturally a Demon Weapon at birth, the Witch Medusa "melted" Ragnarok's weapon form with Madness-imbued Black Blood and mixed it into Crona's blood. As a result, Ragnarok has become a natural part of his meister – instead of being a separate entity.

In his natural weapon form, Ragnarok is a black broadsword that can easily tear through human flesh. However, his Black Blood modifications make Ragnarok extremely dangerous. Given his nature, Ragnarok can manifest Black Blood and harden it to form weapons and defensive systems from Crona. Likewise, Ragnarok can use Black Blood to manifest a Red Black Dragon form for flight and combat purposes.

8 Jinn Galland

Anyone can barely make out Jinn Galland's physical features due to his heavily-clothed appearance. Regardless, this Death Scythe in charge of West Asia is no pushover. In fact, his key component is his weapon transformation, that being a Genie Lamp. True to its mystical nature, the Genie Lamp form can manifest a variety of humanoid entities, doing battle for Jinn and his meister in whatever way they wish.

Its basic form is the Djinn form, a humanoid that can burn anything it touches. Meanwhile, its Lovers form is a robotic entity that can fire a powerful charged shot. Lastly, its Tower form takes the form of a bricked humanoid that excels in hand-to-hand combat.

7 Tezca Tlipoca

Tezca Tlipoca remains notable for his suit and iconic animal mask. However, his mysterious appearance also reflects in his rather mysterious nature. As a Death Weapon, Tezca boasts natural athleticism, primate communication, and even assume a ghostly form. In his humanoid form, Tezca is known as a master of stealth – being undetectable except to those who can pick up his soul wavelength because they know of his existence.

His key feature is his Demon Weapon form, that of the Demon Mirror. As a weapon, Tezca becomes attached to his meister's knee. The Demon Mirror can reflect the guilt of its targets, and "reflect" their souls for tracking purposes. Moreover, the Mirror can cast realistic reflections of their targets. And lastly, fighting in daylight allows Tezca to gather sunlight and fire it in the form of devastating Solar Rays.

6 Azusa Yumi

Despite her rather bossy attitude, Azusa Yumi remains an ever-reliable asset among the DWMA. Her intelligence gathering skills alone are topnotch, being able to track people, objectives, and even secret bases of malevolent organizations around the world. In fact, her Thousand-Mile Eyes allows her to move extremely fast – to the point of drawing diagrams of a facility within seconds of looking at them.

Being a Death Scythe, her wavelength control is almost akin to magic – and this is something she extends to her skills. In her Bowgun form, she can shoot up to six miles away with just an inch margin of error. At her farthest, Azusa was able to hit Asura in the Moon while she was on Earth.

5 Justin Law

Polite Justin Law easily remains one of the most lethal Death Scythes to have graced Death's hands. Before his descent to Madness, Justin possesses remarkable talents. He boasts incredible durability and can fight hand-to-hand without the assistance of a meister. As a Death Scythe, Justin's wavelength control is unbelievable to the point of being considered magic.

Justin takes the form of a Demon Guillotine, making him a Stationary Type. Due to this nature, Justin can manipulate his weapon form to create traps for enemies around him. Likewise, he can have chain blades replace his arms to fight with mobility. In his descent to Madness, Justin acquires an Executioner Form that allows him to fuse with the mechanical Clown to have a more formidable form.

4 Soul Evans

The titular deuteragonist of Soul Eater, Soul Evans serves as Mika Albar's weapon partner and eventually graduates to becoming a Death Scythe. As a Demon Weapon, Soul can manifest into his death scythe form and use wavelength control to boost Mika's combat performance. In Soul Resonance, Soul can tap into Mika's Anti-Demon Wavelength to boost his defenses against Madness.

Soul's exposure to Black Blood also vastly enhanced his repertoire of abilities. This exposure manifested the Black Room, a spiritual place with a piano centerpiece that Soul could use to literally manipulate soul wavelengths to his advantage. As a Death Scythe, Soul can also manifest the spiritual piano into part of his form and even "spread" his wavelength boosts to people around him.

3 Spirit Albarn

Soul Eater protagonist Mika Albarn has a literal Death Scythe for a parent. Spirit Albarn serves as one of very few Demon Weapons deemed worthy of being wielded by Death, himself. Despite his middle-aged appearance and infamy as a womanizer, Spirit Albarn is no Demon Weapon to mess with. Physically, Spirit boasts incredibly physical attributes, with enough durability to withstand a deadly Vector Arrow from the Witch Medusa and the debilitating Scream Resonance of Crona and Ragnarok.

Spirit is also considered the strongest among his Death Scythe brethren. His wavelength control is so impressive that Spirit can detect and amplify the best qualities of his meister. In combat, this wavelength control manifests as powerful energy blasts. His form mastery is so great that he can manifest parts of his weapon form as a humanoid, often using this to dodge attacks.

2 Marie Mjolnir

Despite being a Death Scythe, Marie ironically takes the form of her namesake – a hammer. Due to the physical nature of her human form, Marie boasts incredible physical abilities as well. Thanks to partial transformation, Marie can transform parts of her body into her hammer form to dish out devastating attacks.

Perhaps what makes Marie an exemplary example of a Death Scythe is the incredible wavelength mastery. For instance, Marie can use Lightning Rope to vastly improve her meister's physical performance. She can also manipulate her wavelength control to establish Soul Resonance to groups of people. Contrary to the repelling Anti-Demon Wavelength, Marie has a Healing Wavelength that can "calm" Madness and damage Madness-infected individuals.

1 Excalibur

Despite his diminutive appearance and egotistical demeanor, Excalibur actually served as the basis of the entire Demon Weapon race. Moreover, he served under Death's Eight Reaper Legions that predated Death's personal Death Scythes. However, perhaps the most telling trait of Excalibur's ability is his status as a Great Old One – an entity that embodies madness with a soul wavelength matching that of a god's.

In his humanoid form, Excalibur possesses a very elegant ability of deflecting and dodging attacks. As the embodiment of the Madness of Anger, anyone who wields Excalibur has a penchant for rage. And lastly, his Legendary Holy Sword form can slice through actual space, imbue his wielder with high-speed Wings of Light, and instantaneous teleportation.
