Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer’s Many Hidden Cameos

Sony has released the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home and there's a lot to digest, including what appear to be some very well-hidden cameos.

Spider-Man: No Way Home's very first trailer has finally been released. For real this time, not a phone recording of a phone recording. As expected, Sony and Marvel held off on revealing the trailer until now because No Way Home will seemingly change the way in which we view the MCU in some very major ways. Peter Parker will work with Dr. Strange in an attempt to make the world forget he's Spider-Man.

The trouble is, the spell Dr. Strange casts, if that even is Dr. Strange at all, to make that happen is a dangerous one. One that appears to bust the multiverse wide open. As has been rumored for a while, doing so will bring back supervillains from Spider-Man's past. Not Tom Holland's Spidey, but the universes in which Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield portrayed the web-slinger.

While the former Spider-Men might not have made appearances in the trailer above, a couple of villains from Maguire's trilogy did. The trailer ends with a shot of Alfred Molina reprising his role as Dr. Octopus. There's also a close-up of a Pumpkin Bomb, one of the Green Goblin's weapons of choice accompanied by the bad guy's unmistakable cackle.

Eagle-eyed Spidey fans have been combing through the trailer looking for any hints of characters from other corners of Spider-Man's past, and they appear to have found a few. The tweet above highlights a moment when a sandstorm, complete with lightning strikes, takes over the screen. Perhaps a hint that both Sandman and Electro will return to the big screen. There's also what seems to be a very brief shot of The Lizard, although the moment it happens is too dark to know for sure.

Other fans think they may have spotted Charlie Cox as Daredevil in the trailer. You can see a side by side of the shot from the trailer and Cox as Daredevil in the tweet above. Again, there's no telling for certain, but it certainly seems like the popular Netflix Marvel hero will return in No Way Home. So much to look forward to from Spider-Man, and we still have Shang-Chi, Eternals, and Disney Plus's Hawkeye to come before then.
