Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 and new Need For Speed this year – but not Dragon Age 4

Insider sources claim Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 and a new Need For Speed will be out this year, but Dragon Age 4 is 2023.

It technically hasn’t been announced yet, but everybody knows that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is happening, with the general consensus being that a proper reveal will take place on Star Wars Day in May.

Insider Tom Henderson, who reliably shared information on EA’s Battlefield 2042 before its announcement and release, has claimed that the Star Wars sequel will not only be announced on May 4, but it will release in the final quarter of 2022. So, October to December time.

This matches up with what GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb said earlier this month, who said that the reveal should happen before E3 time in June and that EA is aiming for a Christmas release.

Things are set in motion to reveal the next Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game by Respawn Entertainment.
Following today’s announcement that LEGO Star Wars will release April 5th, a May 4th reveal now seems incredibly likely.

If true, this is good news for Star Wars fans, who already have Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga to look forward to in April.

However, Henderson also had some bad news for Dragon Age fans. The next instalment, commonly referred to as Dragon Age 4, has been incredibly elusive for years and according to a source with knowledge of EA’s plans, it has ‘no chance’ of releasing in 2022.

This makes some sense as Grubb also previously claimed that EA is aiming for a 2023 release, with a marketing push to begin this year. BioWare has promised Dragon Age updates for 2022 so, hopefully, fans should soon get to see gameplay over the next 11 months.

Lastly, Henderson mentions that the new Need For Speed game from Criterion Games is expected to release in September or October this year.

A new entry in the racing series was confirmed in 2020, with Criterion saying it was fully focused on its development. Apparently, said development had to be paused last summer because Criterion was pulled in to assist with Battlefield 2042.
