Stardew Valley Tip Will Make Ducks Swim in Water

Indie darling Stardew Valley has captured players' hearts ever since 2016 with its charm. With the many adjustments, improvements, and polish that developer ConcernedApe has put into the game over the many years it's been around, many fans love discovering how to use the new features to add to their farming experience. For the fans who love having ducks on their farm, they can finally go for a swim, and one tip shared on Reddit may increase the odds of it happening.

The latest update to Stardew Valley was one of the biggest, adding tons of new features such as a new beach farm layout, and ways to enchant tools. One small aesthetic change the update made is that ducks can now swim in a farm's lakes and rivers, but some farmers are curious as to how to make that happen.

One way to encourage ducks to go for a swim following the large 1.5 Stardew Valley update is to build their coop right next to a lake or a river if fans happen to have the space. One player on Reddit shared this tip with other farmers with a screenshot, showing their coop right against a river with their ducks looking rather happy about it.

Even though this is a way to increase the odds of fans finding their ducks in the water, it is not guaranteed. What the birds end up doing is left up to chance with the game, as one farmer has commented that their ducks have only gone for a swim once after the new update. For mobile players, testing this trick out will need to wait until 1.5 reaches Android and iOS versions of the game.

It's a little touch, but it makes the already relaxing and fun farming simulator even better with how happy those ducks look now that they're a bit more in their element. Fans are sure to enjoy the feature, as it's been something fans have wanted for a while.

It's a good thing that the 1.5 update finally added the feature to the game, as with ConcernedApe's new project, there's no telling if Stardew Valley will get another update for a while, if at all. Still, when fans aren't feeding their ducks, they still have a lot more new features to try out and find as they grow their farms with what 1.5 already added last year.

Stardew Valley is out now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
