A Twitch streamer was banned for doing a dance seemingly topless, but says she was secretly wearing a tube top.

A new trend has hit Twitch, where streamers make it look like they’re topless by angling the camera so they show everything but their nipples, but it’s causing a lot of controversy over whether it breaks the rules or not.

One streamer who jumped on the bandwagon is Morgpie, who consequently got banned for breaching suggestive sexual content rules, when a video of her doing a dance while seemingly topless went viral.

However, according to Morgpie she was in fact fully clothed, as she claims the whole thing was just a con and she shouldn’t have been banned.

Morgpie says she read Twitch’s terms and conditions beforehand and believes that what she’s doing is within the streaming site’s guidelines.

Though it looks like she’s topless during her streams, Morgpie says that she’s actually fully clothed.

She says that she’s wearing a tube top and jeans, and that the reason she got banned is because of people’s strong reactions to it.

‘I think, honestly, a big part of that is due to the outrage,’ she told Dexerto.

‘Because we are within TOS [Terms Of Service]. Their TOS are very open-ended. Nobody is breaking the terms of service. Me standing here like this, it’s just my shoulders.

‘It’s just the implied nudity that really freaks people out, I guess.’

Morgpie says Twitch banned her for ‘engaging in lap dances’, describing a sexual experience in graphic detail for a prolonged time,’ and, ‘making explicit gestures toward breasts, buttocks, or genitals on stream.’

She knows exactly what she’s doing. Keep it off Twitch.

Twitch’s terms and conditions for suggestive sexual content is in part explained as such:

‘To ensure content on Twitch is appropriate for diverse audiences, sexually suggestive content is prohibited on Twitch. Evaluations on the sexual suggestiveness of a behaviour or activity are independent of user attire and are instead based on the overall surrounding framing and context.

For example, you may not engage in erotic dances, such as those involving stripping or flashing.’

Though she isn’t doing a lap dance in the video, she certainly is ‘making explicit gestures toward breasts on stream.’

Twitch nipped the ‘almost topless’ trend in the bud pretty quickly, handing out bans to both Morgpie and AsianBunnyx for bending the rules.

Morgpie doesn’t say how long her ban is but admits she’ll cut down on the topless-but-not-really streams for now.

It’s not clear how anyone that gave her money, thinking she was topless, feels about this but since at least one of the streams was for raising money for charity perhaps it doesn’t matter.
