Among Us Is Free This Week On Nintendo Switch

Among Us is free to play on Nintendo Switch right now and will be for the next week providing you have an active NSO account.

Nintendo often gets a hard time for what it offers up via Nintendo Switch Online. NSO certainly isn't PlayStation Plus, and it definitely isn't Game Pass. However, it also doesn't cost as much as those services but still offers up regular perks that are definitely worth the cost of entry.

This week's perk, for example, is the full version of Among Us absolutely free of charge. NSO subscribers can download Among Us from the eShop right now for free and play it until July 27, 2021. After that, subscribers will have until August 1, 2021, to purchase Among Us for a discounted price if they enjoyed playing it enough during their free week.

Among Us is the latest title to be a part of Nintendo's Game Trials, something Nintendo uses to give NSO subscribers a taste of a game with a view to buying it in the future. Not to be confused with its NSO library of NES and SNES games which are added permanently and don't cost any extra.

Speaking of NSO's growing library of classic games, three more titles will be available to play next week. The day after the Among Us free trial comes to an end. That'll give those of you who don't like Among Us enough to pay for it something else to play. Bombuzal, Jelly Boy, and Claymates, three SNES titles that you probably haven't heard of but are definitely worth your time.

Among Us branched out onto the Switch last December and enjoyed immediate success. More than three million people downloaded it in its first month. Letting others try it out for free might result in another bump for the Switch version of the game. It was also the most discussed game during this year's E3 despite big games like Elden Ring and Guardians of the Galaxy appearing to steal most of the headlines.
