Kazuya from the Tekken franchise is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as DLC this week.

Nintendo has just held a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate broadcast dedicated exclusively to the debut of Tekken‘s Kazuya, the next fighter to join the game’s roster. As a result, we were able to observe how one of Bandai Namco’s most recognizable characters would perform over the course of the event’s 40-minute duration.

Masahiro Sakurai, well known for creating and directing the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. video game franchises, made an appearance, as he has on previous occasions, to demonstrate all of Kazuya’s combinations with extended gameplay.

What to expect

Kazuya was picked because he can employ the Devil Gene, the demonic force he has, which allows him to perform a wider range of actions and possibilities. In fact, he will turn into a demon with all of his special skills to unleash some of the deadliest strikes. We can see that all of his attacks were taken from the original Tekken games in which Kazuya appears, albeit they were changed to fit the controls and gameplay of Super Smash Bros.

For example, he will puncture multiple opponents with the Devil Blaster lightning bolt, as he will with the Devil Fist punch. He will also be able to use Devil Wings to fly to vast heights or glide, or Heaven’s Door to grab the opponent and slam him to the ground. All of this is in addition to the original fundamental moves that many Tekken fans are familiar with.

Another interesting fact about Kazuya is that if his life hits 100% or higher, he will enter a fury mode in which his damage is amplified by 1.1 and will only evaporate if he takes too much damage. In a nutshell, the character will be terribly broken when he debuts this week.

As for the scenario that will accompany him, it will be Heihachi’s dojo. At first, it will be a place that will be closed in which no one can leave, but both the roof and the walls will deteriorate by sending opponents against them. Even so, with time everything will be repaired automatically to make it as good as new.

Release date and price

For the rest, the DLC will include a total of 39 songs from the entire Tekken saga, some older and some more recent. What is really important is the date on which it will be available and that will be June 30 for $5.99, although those who have the Ultimate Fighters Pass Volume 2 can download it at no additional cost.
