The Witcher 3 Fans Debate On Which Witcher School Is The Best

Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher novels were possibly the best source material CD Projekt Red could have hoped to find for an action RPG. Not only do they detail out Geralt’s character but also the world, people, monsters, and the various factions. Among these factions are the Witchers who, as we know, are genetically mutated humans that hunt monsters for a living. A post on Reddit currently has fans deciding which of these schools is the best of the lot.

As spotted by GameRant, a post on r/thewitcher3 by KingDingerLingZero has fans divided based on which Witcher school they think is the best. The post itself shows artwork featuring the medallions of the Schools of the Wolf, Manticore, Cat, Bear, Griffin, and Viper created by Lale Workshop.

There doesn’t seem to be an out and out winner here, but some of the posts have given great arguments for their favourites.

“So you know how each of the Witchers have a bunch of monster dnd and genomes thrown in? I like to think that the Bears have a lot of Berserker dna and maybe some Troll. Do they dodge out of the way of enemies? No! They’re god damn bears! They wear heavy, heavy plate yet still are wickedly fast and crazy strong!” said one fan of the Bear school.

However, fans who liked the idea of using Signs firmly supported the Giffin school, while those who supported the Cat school’s ideology of letting in women made it known. The Wolf school is the most popular one, considering that’s what Geralt belonged to. Those who preferred a balanced approach to their Witcher named it as their favourite.

However, there were those who also named some fan-fiction schools that did not feature on the list, like the School of the Leshen, a splinter group from the Griffin school. These Witchers focussed on Archery and traps primarily according to a fan page.

The Witcher seems to be getting its own Cinematic universe on Netflix. Besides the live action show starring Henry Cavill, the streaming platform recently released an animated movie called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. It focussed on a young Vesemir, his early days as a Witcher, and how he came to be one.
