This Week’s Indie Game Releases (July 18 – July 24)

We’re in the thick of summer now, and as heat waves continue to surge around most parts of the world, it’s all the more reason to stay in the cool indoors and check out new indie games on the horizon. After a quiet couple of weeks, this week features a handful of indies that are more than worth your time. (Anything is better than a sunburn, right?)

Here are our picks for the best of this week’s indie games, July 18 – 24.

Existensis – July 19 (PC)

Existensis is a hand-drawn side-scrolling platformer from solo indie developer, Ozzie Sneddon. In search for the meaning of life, with the goal of completing your artistic opus, you’ll journey through the uniquely beautiful world of Eré in this exploration adventure. You’ll easily be able to take in its stunning world, too, as Existensis does away with things like health bars or enemies. Existensis is available now for PC via Steam.

Fallen Knight – July 20 (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Fallen Knight – from developer FairPlay Studios Co. Ltd – is a side-scrolling adventure platformer that puts you in the role of an elite knight with serious sword skills as he attempts to save his city from a terrorist organization. You’re able to select from two playable knights whose storylines will feature multiple endings based on the way you play, offering up solid replayability. Fallen Knight is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Grey Lucidity – July 23 (PC)

Fans of visual novels are thrown a bone this week with the release of Grey Lucidity. From indie developer/publisher Miracle Gates Entertainment, Grey Lucidity is a horror visual novel where you are tasked with escaping the haunted and twisted town of Roseberry. The game features comic panel-style storytelling, and features multiple endings. Grey Lucidity will be available on July 23 for PC via Steam.

Where the Snow Settles – July 23* (PC, XB1)

If you’re really looking to beat the summer heat, Where the Snow Settles – from developer/publisher Myriad Games Studio – may be just what you’re looking for. The game takes place during the coldest winter in memory, and is an exploration adventure title about self-discovery in a magical and mysterious world. Grey Lucidity was originally slated for a July 23 release for PC via Steam. However, the release date now shows as “Coming 2021.” If Where the Snow Settles ends up not releasing this week, but still looks like something you’re interested in, be sure to wishlist the title on Steam.
