Bard To The Bone
The voxel MMORPG Trove has seen a massive amount of success over the years. First launched all the way back in 2015, Trove has amassed a loyal base of 28 million players across a multitude of platforms – it’s currently available on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Despite being 6 years old now, there’s no sign of the releases stopping any time soon for Trove, as the most recent update has added a brand new class to the console editions of the game – the Bard.
In the tradition of D&D-style fantasy, the Bard is a musical magician, weaving magic through enchanting songs and spectacular dance moves, using their panache and charisma to help out their allies with powerful buffs and healing. However, it’s not all support – they’ll be able to hold their own on the damage-dealing front, too.
Along with the class, a new tier of the Crystallogy crafting system has been released – the Bardmancologist tier is dedicated to crafting allies, mounts, wings and fabulous outfits for Bards. The class is exclusively available through either crafting on the Chaos Crafter or through the new Bard Pack.
In a press release announcing the launch of the Bard, publishers gamigo discussed the diversity of classes available in Trove: “With the Bard’s release on console, players can now choose from 17 individual classes, including the heroic Vanguardian, the magical Chloromancer and many more. Trove’s growing range of classes can accommodate even the most diverse playstyles and the ability to switch between them on the fly allows players to take the fight at a distance they’re comfortable with. If worse comes to worst, they can always jump on a flamethrower-equipped dragon to show enemies they mean business.”
The Bard class is now available on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X – the class isn’t quite ready to make the jump to the Nintendo Switch edition of the game quite yet.
