Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin features amiibo compatibility and three new amiibo figures launched alongside the game. Each amiibo grants exclusive Layered Armor sets to the player on their first use, but amiibo also have another function in the game — Tsukino's Lunar Luck.

For everything you need to know about the lottery minigame called Tsukino's Lunar Luck, such as which amiibos work, how to play it, and what kind of rewards you will receive, we have it all covered right here.
How to Play Tsukino's Lunar Luck
You can play Tsukino's Lunar Luck by interacting with any Prayer Pot (there is one in each town or village) and choosing the "Use an Amiibo" option. You will then be prompted to hold an amiibo to the NFC touchpoint.
Any amiibo figure appears to work, not just the Monster Hunter Stories 2 selection. We tried a range of amiibo figures including Animal Crossing cards as well and all of them worked.
An adorable short cutscene will then play and you will find out how your Lunar Luck is. There are three possible results, Crescent Moon, Half Moon, and Full Moon — the fuller the moon, the better your rewards will be:
- Crescent Moon = 1 item
- Half Moon = 2 items
- Full Moon = 3 items
Rewards seem to include various charms, traps, and consumables for use in battles, such as elixirs and bombs.
You can play Tsukino's Lunar Luck multiple times a day, as you are only limited by how many amiibo you have to use. Each amiibo you have can be used once per day.
If you happen to have a lot of amiibo or a stack of Animal Crossing cards, this is a great way to earn a bunch of useful items relatively quickly. Next: Monster Hunter Stories 2 Complete Guide And Walkthrough
